Gloucestershire’s Young Solicitor of the Year

On the evening of 10th June, members of Gloucestershire’s and Wiltshire’s legal profession met in the impressive Chavenage House to recognise the exemplary input made by the younger solicitors in the area.

Rickerbys Solicitors had two of its dynamic solicitors up for the award of ‘Young Solicitor of the Year’. Mark Carter, Solicitor in Rickerbys’ Commercial Property team was declared runner up and Steven Murray went home with the award.

Steven has worked in the firm’s dispute resolution team for the last four years and specialises in contentious intellectual property matters.

Steven won the award for spearheading the young professional social group "Pulse", which aims to provide a more relaxed approach to networking in Cheltenham and for his efforts supporting the firm’s trainees as they progress to qualification.

Honoured to be the region’s first ‘Young Solicitor of the Year’, Steven was keen to thank his wife Laura whose support and patience made it possible to achieve the award.

Steven also said, "It is great that young solicitors are recognized for their achievements as it is important to invest in the future of the profession."
